Cala Gonone Beaches
Cala Luna
Cala Luna is one of the most famous beaches in the gulf, located at the mouth of the Codula di Luna stream, which marks the boundary between the territories of Dorgali and Baunei. The beach is unique for its numerous caves and inlets that line the shore, the result of marine erosion on the limestone rock. Its turquoise waters, surrounded by towering cliffs, and natural caves make Cala Luna an unmissable destination for nature enthusiasts and photography lovers.
Cala Mariolu
This cove takes its name from a legend about a fisherman from Ponza who complained about the presence of the monk seal, which he blamed for “stealing” his freshly caught fish. This “fish thief” gave the cove its name, which is renowned for its white pebbles that shine under the sun and a sea that ranges in shades from azure to emerald green. Cala Mariolu is a small slice of paradise, where the crystal-clear waters invite visitors to snorkel and explore the underwater world.
Cala Sisine
Considered one of the most iconic and photographed beaches in Sardinia, Cala Goloritzè is a small bay nestled at the base of a deep gorge, surrounded by extraordinarily clear waters and wind-sculpted rocks. Located in the Ogliastra region, north of Baunei, it is a paradise for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts. The sea’s hues range from emerald green to deep blue, creating a natural spectacle that leaves every visitor speechless.
